Purses and Totes
Q: What kinds of purses and totes do you make?
A: We make purses and totes in any size and style that you can imagine. This is where your personality can truly shine. We use reclaimed wool, vintage fabrics, sweaters, belts, vintage buttons, men’s ties, and our own appliqué designs to fashion one-of-a-kind purses and totes. Many customer favorites include totes that feature single or double flowers, moose, snowpeople, pumpkins, sheep, pigs, horses, cows, crows and peace signs.

Q: Can I incorporate a special fabric or memento (such as grandpa’s favorite tie, grandma’s special coat, or a beloved baby blanket) in my purse or tote design?
A: Of course! We offer this special service that allows you to keep memories of a loved one near and dear to your heart. Purses and totes featuring your cherished fabrics also make great gifts for special occasions or during times of loss. Many customers choose to have memento totes created from family heirloom Army blankets or vintage wool sweaters that belonged to special loved ones.

Headbands
Q: I bought some of your flower headbands at a show and just loved them. Can I order more?
A: Yes! We make our headbands using vintage fabrics from the 1930s through the 1970s. Each headband features a small wool flower on the side that matches its vintage fabric colors and pattern. Headbands cost $8 each or 2 for $15.

Curtains and Valances
Q: What kinds of curtains do you make?
A: We specialize in valances; however, we can also make café curtains and side panels to match. (We do not make lined draperies, swags, or balloon valances.)

Q: Do you make valances for any-sized windows?
A: The beauty of special ordering is that we can custom-design valances for any-sized window.

Q: What fabrics are available for my valance order?
A: We keep various neutral fabrics in stock. We can order plaids, checks, and unusually colored fabrics. When you order, we can discuss available fabric options within your color and/or pattern preferences.

Q: What measurements are needed to make a valance?
A: Measurements depend on how you plan on hanging your valance.
Hanging your valance inside the window trim
Measure the width between the two upper inside corners of the window. Decide on the desired length from top to bottom.

Measure the width between the two upper outside corners of the window. Decide on the desired length from top to bottom.

Q: What measurements are needed for café curtains?
A: Café curtains are usually half the size of your window from the middle of the window to the sill. Therefore, measure the length of that space, along with the width of your window.

Q: What measurements are needed for side panel curtains?
A: Side panels hang from the top of each side of your window down to the sill. Therefore, record that measurement (the total length of the window), along with the width of your window.

Q: Does the size of my curtain rod affect my valance measurement?
A: Yes! Our valances have a standard 3 1/2” header. If your rod requires a larger header (opening at the top of the valance which fits over the rod), we will enlarge the header to accommodate your rod. Please call with any special measurements.

Q: How do I select an appliqué design for my valance?
A: You can choose any of the appliqué designs featured on our site. We also try to accommodate special requests/ideas that you might have. Just ask!

Q: Can I mix and match appliqué designs?
A: Yes! Customers frequently mix an assortment of appliqué designs.

Q: Can I wash my valance?
A: Many of our valances feature wool appliqués and natural elements such as sticks; therefore, they cannot be machine-washed. However, we frequently use scotch-guarded and upholstery fabrics that can be spot-cleaned easily. We also recommend using your vacuum’s brush attachment to remove any dust or animal fur.

Pillows
Q: What kinds of pillows do you make?
A: We can make pillows in any size, color, or fabric. Just choose your appliqué design and call us with your order.

Q: Can you make pillows to match the valances that I’m ordering?
A: We do it all the time! Just let us know when you place your order. (By the way, we also make pillow shams, but sorry, no bedspreads, comforters, or dust ruffles.)

Seasonal Items
Q: What kinds of seasonal items do you make?
A: We make Christmas tree skirts in all sizes, from little 12-inch minis to extra-large skirts for trees with presence. As with all of our products, we can use any fabric and appliqué design that you desire. We also make lovely Christmas stockings for both you and Fido! As a unique gift idea, we design purses and totes using holiday-themed appliqués. (Visit our seasonal products page to view our holiday appliqués.) Because these are very popular gift ideas, make sure to order early to ensure delivery before Christmas!
